Hi, I’m Alba!

I’m a Canarian-born, internationally made technical editor. I grew up on a tiny island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, but I’ve lived in mainland Spain, Poland, Sweden, Belgium and China (where I’m currently based), learning languages, gathering perspectives, and diving into local fiber-arts traditions along the way.

Fun fact: my name carries my family heritage. Alba is the first light of morning in Spanish, and Linnea is a delicate Swedish wildflower.

The summer before moving to Sweden, my grandma taught me the basics of knitting: knit, purl, cast on, bind off. Once settled into my new home, I did what any overconfident beginner would do: I cast on a sweater for my long-distance boyfriend. It turned into an oversized (we both could have fit inside) sweater that had every single stitch twisted and took over eight months. I kept twisting my stitches for nearly five years, but I beat the boyfriend curse (we ended up getting married), and that imperfect sweater sparked an obsession that hasn’t left me since.

When my husband’s job took us to China, I found myself a stay-at-home wife in a country where I didn’t speak the language and couldn’t work (a situation I would never have imagined in my wildest dreams). So I spent my days knitting while daydreaming of a fiber-arts career that wasn’t tied to a location. That’s when I discovered the Tech Editors Hub,

The moment I learned about technical editing, everything clicked. For the first time, I could see a way to combine my love for knitting with my interest in maths and numbers, my passion for languages, and my desire to connect with knitters all over the world. Suddenly, the idea of building a career while following my husband around the globe wasn’t just a dream, it was tangible.

Today, I’m a certified technical editor. My goal is to give designers the same peace of mind I felt when I found this path, by making sure their hard work is clear, professional and ready to go.
